Function Hall

The Brown Rigg Function Hall is a perfect location to host a wedding ceremony for up to 80 guests and will comfortable seat up to 60 guests around tables for a meal.

The Function Hall has 2 areas, a main hall and a bar room. The Brown Rigg Bar, which serves alcoholic and soft drinks is situated in the bar room.

Marquee

If more guest space is needed, a marquee, yurt, dome, or tepee can be provided. This may be used for the wedding meal and as a quieter seating area, leaving the Function Hall free for music and dancing.

A marquee that seats up to 200 can be provided on the tarmac Courtyard, or on the grassy games field.

The Grounds

There are 24 acres of grounds at Brown Rigg, with stunning views of the Northumberland Nation Park and across the North Tyne Valley.

For those wanting an outdoor wedding ceremony or dance floor, there are several options to choose from.

The Courtyard

A tarmac Courtyard measuring 1,100 square metres is at the centre of the Brown Rigg accommodation and is ideal for children to ride their bikes and scooters on.

There is a basketball hoop, swing ball and a selection of balls and racquets.

Barbeque Area

The grassy Barbeque Area is located next to the Courtyard and is where we serve outdoor meals, there are picnic tables spread around the Barbeque area and other areas of the site for alfresco eating.

The Barbeque area is great place to sit and enjoy the scenery or perhaps hold a karaoke session.

Games Field

The 3-acre games field is situated behind the lodges.

It is ideal for a game or football, cricket, or rounders and perfect for children to play safely.

Paddock

The 3-acre paddock is where those wishing to camp can pitch their tents and vans.

There is plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the wonderful view of the fells and if you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of some local wildlife from here including Buzzards and Owls.

Car Park

Brown Rigg has a separate carpark that allows wedding guests to park away from the courtyard and other areas that are in use for the wedding
